A scene at the entrance to a small harbour, with fishing boat lowering its sail to the left, and a smaller one to the right against a low wooden pier with three figures. A frigate and other boats are in the background under a light pearly sky. The donor previously donated two other works to the Whitworth through the Art Fund in 1926.
