This work was commissioned for the review 'Minotaure', an avant-garde magazine, which covered topics such as archaeology, literature, music and art. This lyrical pastoral scene, based on Greek and Roman literature, depicts the shepherd Daphnis with a pipe, together with a goat, two nude women, and the sea.
