Provenance:
Commissioned by H.R.H. the Duc de Berry for presentation to Lt. Gen. George Don; by descent in the family of the recipient's wife until the 1950s; sold privately through several dealers and collectors until c.1987.

Description:
The stock is of walnut carved with anthemion and acanthus ornament into which are set the gun's silver cast-and-chased mounts. Set into the wrist is the Arms of the recipient. The barrels are decorated with gilded patterns.
