Warhol popularised the commercial screenprint as a medium in the fine arts, using it in his first 'Campbell's Soup' painting on canvas in 1962. The portfolio 'Campbell's Soup I', 1968, established this particular printed image as an icon of Pop Art and 1960s American culture.
