Description:
At the time of acquisition, this work was thought to be of St. Catherine of Alexandria by Francesco Solimena. It has since been reattributed to the Italian shcool. The woman has clasped hands resting on the golden hilt of a sword. She is wearing a scarlet dress over a sleeved white chemise with a brown-grey cloak over her right shoulder and a brown-grey handkerchief knotted over her black hair.
