This artist was born in Birkenhead and the city's Williamson Art Gallery asked the Fund's help to acquire some of his works. A Distant View looking towards Bridgnorth depicts flat countryside, with the town of Bridgnorth in the distance, accompanied by a fairly wooded foreground, The particular feature of this work is the expansive sky with its bold cloud formations. The grant was for four paintings and seven drawings.
