Description:
Dismorr was part of the Vorticist movement and exhibited with Group X in 1920. The curator at Birmingham wrote at the time, 'We see the acquisition of Dismorr's Superimposed Forms as a first step towards fulfilling our commitment to extending the representation of women's work. The painting in question is a strong, late picture by an artist who, at every stage in her career, demonstrated a consistent ability to respond in an original and personal way to the challenge of the new - from the freshly painted Fauve canvases of her early career to the cool precision of her later abstract style.'
