Description:
This work is a variation on Mitchell's recurring stretched screw motif. The forms of Mitchell's sculpture are taken from his subconscious absorption of life and his poetic response to nature - the sculptural quality of the granite landscape of Cornwall, the flight pattern of gulls - but they are not intended to be symbolic nor are their Cornish place names significant.
