Description:
At Lambeth School of Art Shannon met his life-long friend/companion, Charles Ricketts. Successful career as a portrait painter and here is a likeness of one of his favourite models and possibly his mistress. He fell from a ladder while hanging a painting on the stairs and this is the picture that is traditionally supposed to have caused the fall.
