Description:
Loplop is a bird-like figure which recurs in Ernst's work and is often seen to represent the artist's other self. A picture within a picture, Loplop is seen as a disembodied head and tail within connecting geometric lines. Within this, he is more graphically illustrated and given rather elaborate wings and feet.
