Description:
A 'modello' for one of the four decorative canvases that Hayman painted for the Rotunda Saloon in Vauxhall Gardens. It depicts Clive receiving the homage of Jafar Ali after the Battle of Plasey (1757), when he installed him as Nawab of Bengal.
