50 BC-100 AD

This small, marble sculpture of a child, possibly the Infant Bacchus or the child Dionysos holding a pedum (shepherd's crook) and mask, dates from the early Roman Empire. It is a work of some interest, apparently original and possibly by a Greek sculptor working for the Roman market.
