Provenance:
Treasure recovered by Mr R Stenuit, a Belgian underwater archaeologist.

Description:
Treasure from the galleas Gironda which was wrecked off the North Antrim coast after the defeat of the Spanish Armada. Collection of 1914 pieces ranging from bronze cannons to gold toothpicks, and from gold coins, religious medals and jewellery to leather bootsoles. A ring with two diamonds is illustrated, diameter 2.5cm.
