Five pieces by Thomas Dare; beaker, 1675, beaker, 1678, decorated trefid, 1682, and two apostle spoons 1640-70. Two pieces by Samuel Dell; decorated trefid, c.1696, and apostle spoon, 1640-50. Two silver beakers stolen from collection in 1992, one subsequently recovered. Dare was a Taunton goldsmith and paymaster to the Duke of Monmouth during his abortive rebellion in the South West. Dell was at one time the owner of the goldsmiths' premises at No3 Fore Street, Taunton.
