Description:
A modello for one of a series of fresco-paintings commissioned for the Sacristy of S. Brigida, Naples. The commission was received about the time Giordano was leaving for Spain and was largely carried out in the early years of the 18th century by his pupil, Giuseppe Simonelli. But the modello was executed whilst still in Italy and a full decade before Simonelli commenced work.
