Description:
Made in the Latin town of Praeneste. The lid handle is made out of a naked man and woman standing together. The surface is decorated with incised line drawings. On the lid Scylla, hippocamp, sea-monster, octapus, and other sea creatures are depicted; on the body are Athena and Hercules fighting giants, with Victory approaching in a chariot. The feet are in the form of 3 crouching lions.
