Provenance:
Sold in 1930 from the 12th century cathedral of Krk, formerly Veglia, near the Italian-Yugoslav frontier, the iconography suggests it was for the high altar there.

Description:
Venetian altar-frontal embroidered with the Coronation of the Virgin with 12 angels in centre and the saints to either side. On the reverse; S.S.Querinus, Peter, John the Evangelist, John the Baptist, Paul, and Gaudentius.
