Description:
Covered wine-cooler with 2 low-set handles with mask terminals. Decorated with a chased relief of 3 horses above a cast arabesque of oak leaves and acorns. The cover has a foliated knop. Inscribed; 'Won by Mr Thos. Houldsworth's Filho da Puta, 4 yrs. carrying 7 stone 7 pounds, 4 miles, Doncaster, 25th September,1816'. Designed by John Flaxman and made by Paul Storr at the London silversmiths, Rundell Bridge and Rundell.
