Description:
A collection of mezzotints; the principal part being 154 mezzotints engraved by David Lucas after Constable, the majority trial proofs for Constable's 'English Landscape', some annotated by Constable. Also Parts I-III and V of 'English Landscape' and a copy of George Field's 'Chromatics, or an Essay on the Analogy and Harmony of Colours', a number of prints by Lucas after Constable, and an autograph letter from Constable to Lucas. The main illustration is 'Salisbury Cathedral' after John Constable, circa 1831.
