Provenance:
Family of Martin Tupper, collateral descendants of Devis, but separated by 1895 when a list of his portraits was made.

Description:
Four miniature portraits by Arthur Devis of his family. 1) Elizabeth Faulkner, his wife; 2) Anthony Devis Senior, father of Arthur Devis; 3) Anthony Devis Junior, half brother of Arthur Devis; 4) John Devis, half brother of Arthur Devis. They are all in their original frames and have early, identifying inscriptions on the backs. All seem to date from 1742.
