Description:
Pearlware is an improved type of creamware containing a larger quantity of flint and white clay in the body and cobalt added to the glaze to counteract the creamy tone. Stamped on the base: 'Wedgwood & Co, made by Tomlinson, Foster Wedgwood and Co of Ferrybridge', the period when Ralph, nephew of Josiah, was working there. The jug is inscribed James Bouskil, Bardsea, 1796.
