Description:
Plaque closely related to the 'Liuthard' group of ivories (which decorated the covers of manuscripts) made for the grandson of Charlemagne, Charles the Bald. Group depends, both in style and iconography, on the Utrecht Psalter from the early 9th century, under Charles's father, Louis the Pious.
