circa 1780 - circa 1980

Philip Miller's collection of over 2000 teapots was brought together to include the work of as many different English factories as possible. At Norwich Castle Museum it joined the Bulwer Collection of over 600 British ceramic teapots. Since this covers the early eighteen century and the Miller Collection embraces the years from c. 1780 to c. 1980, the two complement one another perfectly. A selection of this - the largest specialist ceramic teapot collection in Britain - is regularly displayed in Twining Teapot Gallery at the museum. The main illustration shows a Minton teapot 'Vulture and Snakes', circa 1880.
