Description:
This work shows soldiers disembarking from a troopship, having returned from active service during the Indian Mutiny. Among the troops are a junior officer of a line infantry regiment standing on the quayside, an In-Pensioner of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, and a wounded NCO wearing the Kilmarnock pork pie cap with the white Havelock cover distinctive to the Mutiny campaign.
