Provenance:
Commissioned by J Mitchell of Manchester in 1864. Sold with Mr Mitchell's collection at Christie's in 1885. Resold at Christie's in 1887 and again in 1894.

Description:
The painting illustrates the poem of the same title. She holds an apple and a dart and is surrounded by butterflies, a bluebird, roses and honeysuckle. Signed with initials in circular monogram.
