Allegory in the forms of a winged cupid and a sleeping nymph respectively. Painted directly on wallpaper; removed and remounted on canvas. Dated 5-7 June 1944.

Provenance

Originally a mural painted directly onto the wall-paper of a house in Brighton whilst it was requisitioned by Whistler's battalion of the Welsh Guards during the Second World War.
