Cabinet half-length portrait of Sir James Barrie standing in profile to the left, wearing a dark brown-grey suit, with white wing collar and dark tie and hand in pockets, the background is light and the figure throws a shadow on it. The portrait was painted when Barrie was 44 and completing his play of 'Peter Pan'. Signed: Nicholson 1904.
