1816

Robert Reid was Scotland's principal government architect during the first half of the 19th century. He was responsible for many important public commissions including the northern extension of Edinburgh's New Town. This set of seven designs for Newholm Cottage throws new light on the architect's career because it is a previously unknown domestic commission by an architect known primarily for his public works. The drawings will complement the small collection of the architect's designs for public buildings currently held in the Collection.
