Flanders was a topographical artist who modelled his drawing on that of Muirhead Bone. He became widely known for his drawings in the Illustrated London News and the Peterborough column of the Daily Telegraph. This work depicts Harlech Castle in North Wales and is the first work by Flanders to enter a public collection in Wales.
