Description:
A Regency ormolu mounted cast iron fire grate, with scrolling square tapering pilaster supports with acanthus headings and paw feet on a plinth base. The firegrate was supplied to Matthew Boulton's son Matthew Robinson Boulton to furnish his home at Tew Park, Great Tew, Oxfordshire. There are other examples of Bullock's work in the Birmingham collection, including designs on paper and fine furniture but this is the firegrate.
