In August 2009, the Scottish National Gallery of Modern will dedicate a room to the work of the influential minimalist artist Agnes Martin (1912-2004).

The display will feature the three late paintings included in ARTIST ROOMS. Martin’s delicate technique expresses a quiet tension between ordered geometry and the irregularity of hand-drawn pencil lines.

This presentation will enable audiences in Scotland to experience at first hand the delicate beauty and subtlety of the artist’s practice.
